When will my order ship?
All orders must be placed by noon on Monday for delivery that week.
If you order is placed after this deadline, our small crew may get too busy making cheese or washing wheels and so your order may get pushed for delivery the following week.
Because of the perishability of our products, we send all our cheeses via UPS for expedited delivery in usually 1 or 2 days shipping max and only to the lower 48 states and Canada.
Please reach out to us with any special shipping request or concerns.
How will my cheese ship?
Your cheese will be vacuum sealed, labeled and put into a padded, insulated sleeve before being shipped. Each shipment will also include ice packs to keep your cheese as cool as possible during transit.
Please note that your cheese may warm up a bit during transit, even when travelling with ice packs that may have thawed upon arrival. But there is no need for concerns. As long as the cheese still feel cool to the touch, it will be totally safe to consume. Just make sure to store your cheese in the fridge as soon as you receive it.
If you still have any concerns or doubt about the condition of your cheese, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
What is your return policy?
We do not accept any returns.
However, if you are unhappy with your order, please contact us immediately to explain the issue.
Refunds of our cheese are handled directly with you, on a case by case basis and under reasonable circumstances. Once you are approved, your refund will be processed and a credit will be issued to your original method of payment within 5 business days.
Please note that we can’t be held responsible for any compromised product if there is any delay in shipment due to unforeseen circumstances, carrier mishandling and/or if the package is not immediately opened upon delivery.
How do i store my cheese?
Because of the nature of the cheeses we make, you always want them to be able to breathe.
So we recommend storing our cheese either in its original vacuum sealed packaging but only for a short period of time if unopened (30 days max). After opening or for longer storage duration, we strongly recommend wrapping the cheese in a waxed/parchment paper instead. Wrapped cheese can then be stored in your refrigerator's vegetable bin where it's more humid, which will avoid the cheese to dry out and let the rind breath to keep it fresh, as long as possible.
Even though it's a common practice, we do not necessarily recommand freezing our cheese. It will alter the texture and flavors over time.
Do you make this cheese?
Yes, we do! All our cheeses are first made, from scratch, at our partner dairy farm with the help of their passionate team of cheesemakers in the heart of Northeast Wisconsin's Dairyland, right along the shore of Lake Michigan. Each batch is then carefully transported to our aging cellars, near Milwaukee, where our team of seasoned affineurs handwash and care for every wheel until thoroughly ripened, to perfection.

Can I eat the rind?
Of course! All our cheeses have a natural, washed rind that contains tons of flavor. There is nothing harmful on the rind, so it comes down to personal preference. So take a walk on the wild and eat it! You will thank us later.

Are you only making one type of cheese?
As a small startup cheese company and because of the amount of variables associated with making cheese and capital needed, we made the decision to only focus on one main product to start with. With found our niche with our original Raclette cheese. After many trials and errors, this product helped us find our space in a very competitive industry. As we now expand our operations to support our growth, we are in a better position to finally focus on making other cheese. But like everything else, it takes time.
As of today, we are still only offering our Raclette, either in its original version or with added flavors. But we have already listed some of the other cheese we are currently working on. So visit our shop now to learn more and sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when our next unique cheese creation will be available for you to enjoy.
What is the origin of the name "Alpinage?"
Alpinage is the combination of two words: [Alpi]ne + Affi[nage].
Alpine represents the mountain region shared by France and Switzerland where the Raclette cheese originally comes from. Affinage is the art and science of aging cheese.
We pride ourselves on producing excellent cheese in all senses of the word, and we've found that the aging process is just as important as the making so it made it to our company name.
Can we visit the Alpinage dairy plant?
We'd be happy to give you a tour of our aging facility! Please contact us to set up an appointment
